I have had the opportunity to participate in a number of trainings and certifications throughout the years.  In no particular order:

  • Member of Council Of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, committed to their Advocate Code of Ethics and trained through their extensive workshops
  • IEP Facilitator trained through Sound Options Mediation contracted through Washington Education Association (WEA) by Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)
  • Special Education Law training through the same programs as above
  • Seattle University Special Education Law Seminars by Dussault Law Group, three years consecutively
  • Wrightslaw 2-day advocacy training
  • Complete training to become a Parents Are Vital to Education (PAVE) consultant - and other full day trainings

  • There are many other trainings I have had and presentations I have developed around DD issues that I can provide later but not limited to transitions, government benefits, employment, housing, behavior management, multicultural issues and multilingual barriers.

I also have a number of affilitions with different organizations and non-profits in the community, as a volunteer or board member.

The hours I have spent working with individual families have been countless.  As a volunteer for Autism Society and Parent-to-Parent, then as an employee of both organizations over the past five years, you can imagine the bulk of my work has been Special Education related.  The other components have to do with systems advocacy.
